Song of Mary
The cantata, Song Of Mary, was first performed at St. Paul's Church, Covent Garden, on Sunday January 24th 2015 with the composer as conductor.
Song of Mary follows the life of Jesus as seen through his mother's eyes. A series of lullabies, sung by Mary, thread throughout the work, telling of her joy at his birth, pride in his ministry and desolation at his crucifixion. The work ends with a setting of the Lord's Prayer and, with it, a resolution of peace and hope.
Song of Mary is written for alto soloist, SATB choir, harp and oboe (piano reduction available)
